On this occasion, we had the privilege of having Matt Cain and Chelsea Cain visiting us in Peru. Because of the special occasion, we created a unique package for their trip, here we leave a story about each stop on their trip.
1st day: Arriving to the city of Lima
After arriving in Lima, our guests went straight to the Belmond Miraflores Park, one of the most luxurious hotels in town, always in the companion of one of our representatives, who was also in charge of assisting with check-in procedures and itineraries.
2nd day: Culinary Lima Tour + Colonial Lima City Tour
After arriving in Lima, our guests took a tour around the city to experience firsthand what this wonderful city can offer. From delighting themselves with Peruvian cuisine in some of the most exclusive restaurants in the area to cruising around the trendy districts, visiting the traditional market or even taking a tour to visit the most important historical landmarks of Lima.
3rd day: Ballestas Island by Private Yacht + Pisco Distillery + Buggies & Sand Boarding
On their 3rd day, we took them out of the city and into the beautiful Ballestas Island in a very pleasant private yacht ride. Once arrived at the island our guests took a tour around the area, taking a stop to do a Pisco tasting, right before having lunch and taking a horse ride through the local vineyards, to finally take a bus to Huacachina and enjoy the fun of driving dune buggies and doing sandboarding down the dunes.
4th day: Full Day Sacred Valley of the Incas
The 4th day of the journey marked the beginning of our trip through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, succumbing to the outrageous charms of ancient Andean ruins like Pisac, Intihuatana, Q’allaqasa or Kinchiracay. They were also able to pay a visit to the Pisac Market, a great place for purchasing local goods just before going to the beautiful town of Ollantaytambo, located at the western end of the valley.
5th day: Hiram Bingham Train + University Dinner Tinkuy & Musicians
All the journey through the Sacred Valley allowed our guests to know the beauty and rawness of this ancient Andean territory, making this the perfect introduction for the real attraction of the day: Machu Picchu. Onboard the elegant and luxurious Belmond Hiram Bingham train, the feel of being back in the 1920s gives you a hint of what it was to travel to the ancient city of the Incas back in the day, having at the same time the pleasure of enjoying a 1st class service and a delicious luxury meals made by private chefs along the way.
6th day: Trekking Machu Picchu Mountain & Citadel Excursion + The First Class Train
The 6th day of the journey could not have started any better: our guests did the traditional hike through the Machu Picchu Mountain, enjoying fantastic views of the surroundings and the citadel itself before arriving in it. The enigmatic lost city of Machu Picchu is the most famous archaeological site of South America and one of the most singulars in the world. Among the highlights of this sacred and marvelous place are the remains of ceremonial baths, the Sacred Plaza with its outrageous view across the Urubamba River valley, and even a rare shrine to the sun, with a labyrinth of passageways and cells nearby.
7th day: Trekking Rainbow Mountain and Picnic
Once the adventure through the Sacred valley ends with a trip in a train back to Cusco, the guests were collected from the hotel to go on a trip 3 hours south of the city, to hike the incredible Rainbow Mountains. This amazing hike took around 4 hours at a regular pace and ended up in a camping site in Vinicunca, enjoying a nice lunch right before heading back to the city.
8th day: Route of the Sun to Puno
Back in Cusco, the 8th day of the journey begun at the hotel, taking a powerful and plentiful breakfast before heading to the city of Puno. The first stop of our journey was the lovely Wacarpay Lake, which offers spectacular views to the mountains and a tremendous feeling of peace thanks to its calm water. Then, we visited the beautiful Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas in the town of Andahuaylillas, followed by a quick visit to the town of Raqchi and its Incan Sanctuary dedicated to the Inca God of Wiracocha. Passing through the charming towns of La Raya and Ayaviri, we finally arrived in the wonderful city of Puno.
9th day: Lake Titicaca Adventure by Private Yacht
Once our guests had breakfast at the hotel, we headed to the marvelous Titicaca Lake, enjoying an unforgettable motorboat excursion that led us to the unique Floating Islands of the Uros, where an ancient community known as «The Water Tribe» will show you a bit of their culture and their unique way of living. Right after that, our guests went to the Island of Taquile, where we took a little tour around the island before having lunch.
10th day: Sillustani On Route + Flight to Lima
Beginning the end of our wonderful trip, we took a short stop at the Chullpas of Sillustani, a marvelous archaeological site located 22.3 miles away from the city of Puno. Its high altitude made it the perfect site to enjoy the landscape, as well as the amazing pre-Inca structures located in the area. This vantage point allows you to enjoy stunning highland landscapes and imposing pre-Inca structures located in the area, great sightseeing before heading back to Lima.
11th day: Transfer Out Lima + Flight Back Home
The final day of this incredible journey through this amazing country had us returning to the city of Lima, where our guests were shuttled from the hotel to the airport.
